Testimonials of Mandarin AICE Alumni

My decision to enroll in the AICE Program at Mandarin High School was one of the best decisions I ever made.

During my time as a student, I was academically challenged, but as a result of the level of involvement of instructors I truly reaped the benefits in the end. From being interviewed for Ivy League institutions to winning multiple scholarships in the tens of thousands of dollars, I attribute it all to the AICE Program and the superior education I was privileged to receive from it. I highly recommend this program to any and all who are serious about their education and have a love of learning.
While the curriculum was at times demanding, I feel it really prepared me for the realities of attending a world renowned university. In some cases, the AICE Program even exceeded these rigors so as a college student I have the opportunity to stand out when those around me are struggling. This is especially evident in the English and Chemistry departments.

Going into the eighth grade it never crossed my mind that I would attend a non-parochial high school.  I attended a private Catholic school from first to eighth grade and until my last few months at St. Joseph's I always assumed that I would attend a Catholic high school. Then my father and I met Mrs. Moore, at that time the AICE coordinator at MHS, and she convinced us to give the AICE program and Mandarin High School a second look. I could not be more thankful to Mrs. Moore for asking my family to reconsider our options and helping us choose the AICE program. I truly believe that the AICE program and the teachers and faculty at MHS were the key to my success in high school and my success now at the United States Military Academy. The AICE program fully prepared me for everything I have faced in college, and although it was difficult at the times I am extremely grateful for the challenge both the teachers and the program provided me. The demanding course load required me to develop my time management skills, as well as pushed me to learn how to properly prioritize both my school work and my extra-curricular activities. These basic skill sets have proven to be vital during my time at West Point. They have allowed me to handle the many stressors of college without becoming quickly overwhelmed and frustrated within the highly demanding environment. I would recommend the AICE program to any high school student who is serious about going to college and willing to work hard in order to accomplish their goals.
